All eyes are on the President

When it comes to Leadership all eyes are on the President. The President of the US is the number one leader in the free world, President Trump’s comments in the public forum are terrible. As a leader and manager, if you’re not happy with an employee (Jeff Sessions, for example) meet with them and communicate your issues. Then ask the employee if he or she has any comments and come to an understanding on future performance. If this does not work then you can make a change but never ever embarrass an employee and especially in a public forum.  The…

Highly Recommend The Winery Newport Beach

Went to a new restaurant for me called The Winery I had a dinner meeting at this very inviting restaurant in Newport Beach, California on Monday night. THE WINERY personnel were extremely friendly and the food was superb. We had a great experience. My guest said it was hard to focus as the views from the terrace were incredible. John McCain and his senate speech yesterday

In the news John McCain was exceptional in the Senate speech yesterday. He reinforced the hero that he is and has again proven why he is a leader. His comments on getting to work and ignoring the news media was right on target. Our legislators should be ashamed of themselves with the nonsense in Washington and McCain let both side have it in full force. What an example of leadership.

Innovation Inadequacy and Resolve within Healthcare system

The Trouble with Health Care – A Lack of Innovation and Resolve The United States of America was one the global leader in medical research and innovation. As of 2015, we’re in decline in this sphere, opening the way for other global powers to take the lead. Since 2004, medical R&D funding has declined by 13% since 2004, and this issue is compounded by the insane taxation of drug and research companies in the U.S. How can we expect to provide those who require advanced techniques, medicine, and specific care to those who need it most, when we don’t invest…

Term Limits in the US House of Reps and why necessary

On Term Limits in the US House of Representatives and US Senate – Why They Are Necessary House Speaker Paul Ryan has promised to bring term limits to a vote. In 1994 Republicans pledged to limit the terms of all committee chairs in their ‘Contract with America.’ The President of the Unites States, Donald Trump, has vowed to implement term limits during his tenure in the White House. In October 2016, a Rasmussen Poll found that 74% of American voters favored the concept of term limits. All of these promises have yet come to be, but they indicate an underlying need…

Stop Taxing Medical Innovation

Medical Innovation Saves Lives – Stop Penalizing It Where would we be without innovation in healthcare? The impact on mankind is immeasurable. We need to stop taxing medical innovations. We would we still have cases of polio, AIDS would still be a death sentence. People would still be walking about with Hepaticas C and no knowledge of the disease. We would not have advances in heart, liver, or kidney disease. We have gotten so used to everything from infant mortality to life expectancy being good and improving all the time that we simply take it all for granted. Stop Demonizing…

Gridlock Has Gone Too Far

Time for Term Limits Friday JP Morgan released their earnings. On the analyst call, Jamie Dimon, chairman, president and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, clearly stated his displeasure with the gridlock in Washington. Jamie is right. This gridlock is having a very negative effect on the growth of the country and goes beyond partisan bickering and posturing. The people who we have elected don’t care about the country, our people, education,  jobs, etc. If companies were run like Washington there would be no companies in business. This is a disgrace.  Taking Gridlock to far We created a system that incentivizes officials to…

Charles Laverty advises how to look at healthcare

Needing to deal with the healthcare system Charles Laverty is the CEO of a company that develops and manufactures blood vessel stints, called Advanced Bifurcation Systems.  Laverty’s company has to deal with insurance companies and in his past 25 years working in the health industry.  He has learned that the American healthcare system needs a lot of work. There are so many people, many of which have families, find it extremely difficult to understand and pay for health insurance.  In years past, the health care legislation has made health care to be attainable for some.  Then some of the population…

My Healthcare Op Ed on USA Herald

Depoliticize Healthcare and Have Tough Conversations I have dedicated 25 years to helping improve the health and lives of people through my work with companies like ABS. So I am passionate about healthcare policy. I am deeply concerned that healthcare costs are taking us towards a serious breakdown in our ability to afford to deliver services to people.   USA Herald published an op-ed with some of my thoughts and I hope that you will read it and share it. The conversation is a critical one and there are many voices. But, if we don’t start having some serious, occasionally awkward…
